Eastlyn Jensen is a company artist with Ballet Arizona, where she has performed a wide range of classical, neoclassical, and contemporary works. Her training includes the School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet, Ballet West, Ballet Etudes, and the Chautauqua Institution’s dance program. She began teaching in 2021 and has since worked with students of all ages and levels, offering instruction grounded in excellence, individualized guidance, and a deep appreciation for the artform.
Raised in Ridgefield, Connecticut, Eastlyn began her early studies under Nannette Vallas (American Ballet Theatre) at Ballet Etudes and was promoted at age 13 to the pre-professional division, where she also choreographed a capstone work for the graduating class. Her professional career has allowed her to perform cherished roles including the Siren in Prodigal Son, Emeralds in Jewels, and the First Aria in Stravinsky Violin Concerto.
Alongside her dance career, she is pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at Arizona State University.
Eastlyn’s ballet artistry is shaped by a deep connection to music, Balanchine-influenced clarity, and a versatile physicality that allows her to inhabit a wide spectrum of roles. She is equally at home in intricate, angular repertory as she is in slow, lyrical movement that highlights her musicality and sensitivity. While classically trained, her experiences performing works by Alexander Ekman, Wayne McGregor, Christopher Wheeldon, and other contemporary choreographers reflect her adaptability and curiosity as an artist.
After seven seasons with Ballet Arizona, she is energized by the prospect of expanding her repertoire, collaborating with new choreographers, and continuing her growth under fresh artistic perspectives. Her aspiration is simple yet ambitious: to evolve continuously in both technique and expression.
